My name is Shannon Riley-O'Neill. I have been a part of East Detroit Public school most of my life. I attended Woodland Elementary where I first decided to become a teacher. Later, I went to Grant Junior High and then East Detroit High School. I went to Macomb Community College for 1 year and then transferred to Eastern Michigan University where I earned my teaching degree. Each summer, I returned home to work for the Parks and Recreation Department. I spent 10 years working the playground program and going to Camp Shamrock. After completing my degree, I came back to East Detroit and began my teaching career. I have been a part of East Detroit my entire life and will never forget the firm foundation that this city laid for me. The East Detroit Schools are responsible for my success today! Once a Shamrock - Always a winner!
I want your children to feel the sense of pride that I feel when I talk about the East Detroit Public School System. I look forward to being a part of your child's story of success.
